The Vergilian Society offers multiple experiences for Latin teachers of all levels. The purpose of this Society is to promote the study of Vergil by means of lectures, conferences, publications, and reports of excavation that have a bearing upon Vergil’s works. Membership is open to any person who is interested in the study of Vergil.
The society offers a number of tours in the summer from their base at the Villa Vergiliana on the Bay of Naples. According to their site, "Vergilian Society tours are designed to appeal to the needs of a wide range of travelers including high school and college students and instructors; they are particularly suitable for instructors bringing a group of students. We specifically welcome nonprofessionals interested in the ancient Mediterranean."
